Reading City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced Defender Tom Baldwin.
Tom joins the Cityzens having moved to the Reading area from Gloucestershire, where he’d previously been plying his trade for local club Lydney Town who compete in the Uhlsport Hellenic League. Having joined their ranks at the age of 8 before making his way through to the first team where he amassed over 150 appearances at Step 5.
Tom is no stranger to the Cityzens having played against us during our Hellenic Years, and we are thrilled to have a player with his experience and calibre join the club as we look to build on last season’s record-breaking performances.
Following Tom putting pen-to-paper, we spoke to First Team Manager Simon Johnson regarding his first addition of the summer and here’s what he had to say “We owe our thanks to Ryan at Severn Sport for this one! Tom has previously been plying his trade in the Hellenic League with Lydney Town, but having moved to the area he had a number of clubs after his signature. We’re delighted he’s chosen to sign for us. He is a great signing and has fitted in with the group really well already. A defender who will come in and improve the squad and I can’t wait to see what will come from him this season. Welcome Tom!”
